O primeiro parlamento começou em 21 de junho de 1625 e foi realizado em 11 de julho de 1625, quando foi adiado para Oxford por medo de uma praga em Londres. Em seguida, sentou-se de 1 de agosto de 1625 a 12 de agosto de 1625, quando foi dissolvido. Ganhou esse nome porque não fazia negócios significativos, mas era muito "inútil" do ponto de vista do rei.
